FAQ

Where are you located? Are you on the the water?

Escape to the tranquility of Seascape Motel and Cottages, located just three miles from downtown Belfast and Searsport.

Our prime location on US Route 1 offers stunning views of Penobscot Bay and easy access to public water access just a short walk away. Our charming cottages boast serene water views and peaceful surroundings, perfect for those seeking a nostalgic coastal escape.

While Route 1 can be busy, we offer accommodations set back from the road for those who prefer a quieter stay.

How is your facility laid out?

The motel and cottages are arranged in a semi-circle facing the pool area. There is approximately 40 to 60 feet between each building. The Seascape is set on 4.5 acres of southerly sloping land.

Behind the cottages, we have fire pits and a little trail that goes down to a trickling creek. On the western edge of our property is the trailhead for Fristad Trails, a sanctuary of 100 acres of well-marked walking trails, open to the public (and dogs).

Do you have an ice machine?

There is an ice machine with complimentary ice outside our office. Ice buckets are provided in each guest room and cottage.

What is your pet policy? I just have a little pet, and she won't hurt a thing, I promise!

No pets are allowed at Seascape with the exception of service animals, including the necessary documentation of the service animal’s dedicated purpose.

We are happy to recommend several other accommodations in the area who do accept pets. We have taken great care to renovate the rooms and the decor and furnishings simply won’t hold up to furry friends, no matter how sweet they are.

Do you have a pool or spa?

Dive into happiness with our sparkling clean outdoor heated pool and hot tub! Enjoy a comfortable water temperature and the clear waters of a state-of-the-art filtration system.

Our pool area features a 20-foot-wide shallow end and a 39-foot-long lap area for the serious swimmer. Relax your body with the 6 soothing jets in the poolside spa after a busy day exploring the Maine coast. Our pool hours are from 7:30 am to 9 pm in the summer and 9 am to 7 pm in the fall, open seasonally from early June through mid-September. You won’t find another establishment along the midcoast with the same combination of amenities!

However, please note that we reserve the right to close the pool and spa due to weather or environmental conditions at any time.

Is smoking allowed?

Our whole facility is non-smoking. Smoking is not permitted in the motel rooms, cottages, on the outdoor decks, guest registration or pool areas.

There is a small, uncovered, dedicated smoking area near the woods, away from all guest areas. We do not have accommodations for smoking in inclement weather.

What do the cottage kitchens have in them?

All of the kitchens are supplied with pots, pans, dishes and glassware, as well as cooking and eating utensils. You will also find salt and pepper, cooking oil, coffee filters, paper towels, dish washing liquid, and dish towels. Each kitchen is equipped with a four-burner stove and oven, microwave, full size sink, coffee maker, and toaster.

The studio cottages have an under-the-counter refrigerator. The one and two bedroom cottages have a full size refrigerator with freezer.

Can you print Acadia passes?

We are a paperless operation in terms of billing, guest sign-in and registration. However, we can print your Acadia park passes and parking permits, as well as other travel documents you may need.

Are we allowed to have cookouts? Do you provide grills?

Outside each cottage is a picnic table and charcoal grill. You are welcome to barbecue anytime.

We love the mugs in the room. Where can we get one?

Thanks! We hear that a lot. You can just take one right from your room, and we’ll add it to your room charge. Or you can visit our on-site market, where you’ll also find other Seascape merch.
